On the Cradle level of Goldeneye for the Nintendo 64 there is an easy way to defeat Trevelyan quickly. First follow him out of the shed containing the guidance computer. When you come to the first ramp strafe off to one side and crouch. If you are in the right place he will miss you and hit the railing. Before any other Janus troops arrive, carefully aim at Alec's head with the strongest weapon you have. Fire one or two shots. After a few seconds he will ask you to "finish the job."
In multiplayer mode where there are more than two players be part of an ambush. In levels such as the basement take advantage of obstacles such as pillars. Crouch in the shadows of a corner and wait for an opponent to step in. Once he is in the center of the room pop up and begin firing a rapid-fire weapon such as an AR33 assault rifle. In your opponent returns fire sidestep and turn the control stick so that you make a circle while you fire. This is particully nasty in "license to kill" mode or when your opponent is fighting a close battle with another player.
Nintendo claims that almost all the characters in the multiplayer mode are equal, with the exception of Jaws and Objob but there is another player with a slight disadvantage. Valentin Zukovsky is bigger around then the other players and in my experience a n easier target.
In the facility you can shoot through the bottom of the doors of the bathroom stall. If you are on the outside of a stall simply crouch, aim and fire into the lower fourth of the door.

Why is it that most of the great games like Resident Evil and Tomb Raider are made only for the Playstation. Sure CD's are much cheaper to make then console games but does that mean Nintendo 64 owners should be left hungry for a variety of games. About six months ago I couldn't stand the lack of games any longer and I bought a playstation. Sure Nintendo 64 has its winners such as Goldeneye or Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, but Playstation has an army of great games. More racing games, more horror games, and a lot more RPG's. Don't get me wrong, I am not giving the Playstation any disrespect, I only ask Nintendo for more games.
